Who We Are

Located in New York’s scenic Hudson Valley, just two hours north of New York City, Three Bay Barn has earned a reputation for creating specialty costumes and props for Broadway shows, regional theater, arena entertainment, operas and dance companies nationwide.

Under the direction of Aaron Keppel, TBB offers a full array of services to the professional costume and props designer, including:

  • Sculpting, mold-making and casting of masks, props and prosthetics in a wide range of materials

  • Patterning, sculpting and foam carving

  • Soldering and small-scale metal forming and welding

  • Vacuum forming

  • Full millinery services

  • Sewing

  • Costume crafts

  • Painting/finishing and more.

Prior to forming Three Bay Barn, Aaron worked as a theatrical milliner for both Arnold Levine Studio and Lynne Mackey Studio, and later as a prop maker at Jerard Studio in New York City. He also made fashion hats under the label id design, inc. that have been sold at Barney’s NY, Le Bon Marché Department Store in Paris and many smaller accessories stores throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts, with major’s in both sculpture and printmaking, and has taught Costume Crafts at SUNY New Paltz.
